James co-founded Capital South Wealth Management LLC to address the needs of individuals whose financial situations have been drastically altered whether through death, divorce or windfall. James and the Capital South team work to provide clarity and address issues regarding financial matters. This process requires diligence and care to examine every aspect from asset preservation, behavioral counseling, income planning, insurance, budgeting, estate planning, and investment management.
James's professional insights have been featured in several national publications including Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine, TheStreet.com, CNBC, ThinkAdvisor, Money, Yahoo Finance, and U.S. News & World Report.
He is an alumnus of the E.J. Ourso College of Business at Louisiana State University, where he graduated with both a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Master of Science in Finance. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional, a Chartered Financial Consultant®, a Retirement Income Certified Professional®, and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®. The ChFC® and RICP® designations are awarded by the American College, a non-profit educational institution with academic accreditation, dedicated to the development of financial professionals.
James's professional securities registration includes Series 66-Investment Adviser Representative registration, and Life, Health and Disability Insurance license. James is a member of several professional and community organizations including the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the Baton Rouge Estate & Business Planning Council, and the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, and Club Blue.
When he is away from the office James enjoys spending time with his wife Ally and their son, leading community outreaches with their church, and mentoring with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge.
Ryan Gisclair, CFP®, ChSNC®
Financial Planner
Before co-founding Capital South Wealth Management, LLC, Ryan was employed in the Life Care Planning industry and worked with individuals who have special needs for 10 years. His passion for helping people led him to his vocation as a Financial Planner in 2012. Drawing on his background, Ryan uses his specialized knowledge to work with families and individuals who have special needs. Ryan and the Capital South Wealth Management, LLC. team, work with the family, life care planners, attorneys, and trustees to coordinate the establishment and management of a comprehensive Special Needs plan. Ryan's goal is to work with professionals to protect individuals with disabilities due to accident or injury, protect their government benefits when receiving a court award or settlement through the use of Special Needs Trust.
Additionally, Ryan has extensive experience working in the retirement plan space. He works directly with entrepreneurs to find the appropriate retirement plan for their business and educates employees on the importance of saving for retirement.
Ryan is an alumnus of Louisiana Tech University and his professional securities registrations include Series 66 Investment Adviser Representative, and Life, Health and Disability Insurance license. Ryan is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional, and he is a Chartered Special Needs Consultant®. Additionally, he is a member of the Financial Planning Association. His focus on helping others also plays a role in his community involvement throughout the Baton Rouge area. Ryan is currently on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Greater Baton Rouge and the Board of Governors of the Louisiana Legacy Golf Tournament. When he is not spending time with his wife and four kids, he enjoys serving others by volunteering.

Matthew is a rising senior at Louisiana State University studying Industrial Psychology and Business Administration. He has been honored with numerous awards, including the Outstanding Student of the Roger Hadfield Ogden Honors College, Star, and Crescent Foundation Scholarship recipient, President Future Leader in Research, National Merit Scholar, and Louisiana Boys State SAMSUNG Scholar. He is also a member of Alpha Lambda Delta honor society, Phi Kappa Phi honor society, and the Order of Omega Greek honor society. A five-time member of the President’s Honor Roll, Matthew is a dedicated scholar and hopes to pursue his Master of Science degree in Industrial Psychology upon graduation from Louisiana State University.
Outside of the classroom, Matthew is an involved member of the LSU community. He currently serves as the President of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, the Director of Greek Week for the Greek Board of Directors, and a member of the Greek Leadership Institute. In the past, he has served as Sigma Phi Epsilon’s Vice President of Communications, Empower Leadership Retreat facilitator, a member of the Interfraternity Council’s Recruitment Standards Board, and other roles at LSU. Matthew actively volunteers with both Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge and Volunteer LSU and has done so since his freshman year.
