James co-founded Capital South Wealth Management LLC to address the needs of individuals whose financial situations have been drastically altered whether through death, divorce, or retirement. James and the Capital South team work to provide clarity and address financial issues. This process requires diligence and care to examine every aspect from asset preservation, behavioral counseling, income planning, insurance, budgeting, estate planning, and investment management.
James's professional insights have been featured in several national publications including Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine, TheStreet.com, CNBC, ThinkAdvisor, Money Magazine, Yahoo Finance, and U.S. News & World Report.
He is an alumnus of the E.J. Ourso College of Business at Louisiana State University, where he graduated with both a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Master of Science in Finance. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional, a Chartered Financial Consultant®, a Retirement Income Certified Professional®, and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®. The ChFC® and RICP® designations are awarded by the American College, a non-profit educational institution with academic accreditation, dedicated to the development of financial professionals.
James's professional securities registration includes Series 66-Investment Adviser Representative registration, and Life, Health, and Disability Insurance license. James is a member of several professional and community organizations including the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the Baton Rouge Estate & Business Planning Council, and the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, and Club Blue.
When he is away from the office James enjoys spending time with his wife Ally and their children, leading community outreaches with their church, and mentoring with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge.
